Daily Color Challenge: How Our Daily Mode Works
If you've ever played Wordle, you understand the appeal of a daily puzzle — same challenge, same time, comparable result. ColorFlex Daily is the same idea, applied to color. Here's exactly how it works.
The format Every 24 hours at midnight UTC, ColorFlex picks one target color from the active categories pool and serves it as that day's challenge. Every player worldwide gets the same color, the same image, and the same scoring window. You guess once; the score is final.
Open colorflex.gg/play/daily and you'll see today's round. No setup, no category picker — just the prompt, the picker, and a lock-in button.
Scoring Scoring is the standard ColorFlex 0-100 scale based on HSB distance from your guess to the target. A score of 90+ is "elite" tier, 70-89 is "good", below 50 means you missed the family entirely.
Your daily score lands on the Daily Leaderboard where you can see how you ranked globally for the day. Top 100 players get a badge.
Streaks Play 5 days in a row and you start a streak. Streaks display next to your username in multiplayer rooms and on the leaderboard. Miss a day and the streak resets — there's no streak freeze, by design. (Wordle freezes ruin the integrity of the streak.)
Why daily? Daily challenges work for three reasons: 1. Comparable scores: everyone gets the same color, so your 87 means something next to your friend's 84. 2. No grind: one round per day means you stay sharp without burning out. 3. Social proof: sharing a daily result is low-friction (one screenshot, copy-paste your score block to your group chat) and drives the cultural moment Wordle perfected.
How the daily color is picked A weighted random sample from the active questions pool, with two rules: - No repeats within 60 days. - Difficulty distribution: roughly 30% easy, 50% medium, 20% hard across a month.
This means most days are approachable, some days are punishing. If you're scoring 60 on a daily, check the leaderboard — it's probably a hard day and the global average is also down.
Tips for the daily - Play in good light. The daily is the round where lighting variance hurts most because you can't retry. - Don't rush. There's no timer on the daily. Take 30 seconds to look, then commit. - Use the picker reveal. Hover before locking in. Sanity check. - Read the prompt. Sometimes the prompt names the object explicitly, sometimes it's a vibe. Both matter — the prompt is a hint about what the target color belongs to.
After the round You'll see your score, a per-dimension breakdown (how far you were on hue, sat, and brightness), and a copy-to-clipboard share block formatted Wordle-style:
