Color Guesser
A color guesser is a game that tests how accurately you can identify and reproduce a color by eye. ColorFlex is a free, browser-based color guesser built around real trending products — sneakers, beauty, album covers — instead of abstract swatches.
How to play
- See the product. Each round shows a real product image — a sneaker, a lipstick, an album cover, a movie poster.
- Dial in the color. Use the HSB picker to set hue (the color family), saturation (how vivid), and brightness (how light or dark).
- Lock it in. Submit your guess. You get 0–100 points based on how close you were in HSB space.
Five rounds make a game. Top out at 500 points if you're inhuman.
Game modes
- Daily Challenge — one shared puzzle per day, Wordle-style.
- Solo Grind — unlimited rounds, beat your personal best.
- Multiplayer Party — up to 5 friends, real-time rooms.
- Streamer Mode — overlay-ready scoreboard for live streams.
What makes ColorFlex different
Most color guessers show you a flat swatch and ask for a hex code. That's fine — and we have a Hex Mode if you want it — but it's not how anyone sees color in the real world. ColorFlex uses real product photography so the test is closer to actual color memory: "what shade of cream is that Air Force One?" instead of "what hex is this rectangle?"
Three things make us different:
- Real products, not swatches. 13+ categories pulled from culture.
- Multiplayer rooms. Up to 5 players in real time, no signup needed.
- HSB scoring. Closer to how human eyes perceive color than raw RGB distance.

Tips to score higher
- Hue first. Get the color family right (red vs orange vs pink) before touching saturation or brightness. Hue errors cost the most points.
- Then brightness. Squint at the image. A pale cream vs a deep cream is a 30-point swing.
- Saturation last. Most product colors are less saturated than they look. Pull it down 10–15% from your gut pick.
- Watch the lighting. Studio shots add warm yellow. Mentally subtract it.
- Trust the first instinct. Your second-guess is usually worse. Lock it in.
About this color guesser
ColorFlex was built by people who got annoyed at how boring most color games look. Every question is curated, every score is fair (HSB distance is deterministic — no RNG in the scoring), and the whole thing runs in your browser with no signup. If you want a deeper rules breakdown, see How to Play.
